Privacy, terms and security
Map a Quote reads the material list and vendor quotes you send, maps each quote line to your list, and keeps the files 90 days to improve how Coffer reads quotes. Coffer never shares or sells your files, and contacts you only at an email address you give it.
Privacy: Map a Quote
Map a Quote is Coffer's free path: the job page on map.coffer.build, the Coffer app in ChatGPT and Claude, and the API and MCP server for AI agents.
What you send
A material list (Excel or CSV) and up to 3 vendor quotes (PDF) for each job.
What Coffer does with it
- Reads the files and proposes a match for each quote line on your list. The reading uses AI models: OpenAI models through the Vercel AI Gateway, with request storage turned off, and the Jev sheet reader from Typesafe for the material list. These providers do not train on your files.
- Reads who each quote is addressed to (the company, contact and project printed on it) and the vendor that issued it, to understand who uses Map a Quote.
- Keeps the files and the result for 90 days to improve how Coffer reads quotes, then deletes them. A file is used in Coffer's own tests only after prices and names are removed or changed.
What Coffer keeps after 90 days
The email you gave, if you gave one; how many free quotes you used; the company and project names read from the quotes; and any request you sent to set up Coffer for your company.
Who Coffer contacts
Only an email address you gave: the address you confirmed with a code, or the one in a setup request. Coffer does not contact the company or person named on a quote because of an upload.
Who can see a job
Each job has its own link with a long random ID. Anyone who has that link can open the job and its result until it is deleted, so share it only with people who should see the quotes. Search engines do not index job pages.
Deleting your files
Email declan@coffer.build with your job link, and Coffer deletes the files and the result.
Analytics
Coffer counts events such as "job started" and "quote mapped", without file contents, prices or email addresses.
Coffer customers
Files that a company sends under a Coffer service agreement follow that agreement. They never feed Map a Quote, and Map a Quote files never feed a customer's workspace.
Terms: Map a Quote
- Free for 3 quotes per person. The first needs nothing; quotes 2 and 3 need a work email and a 6-digit code. Coffer may pause free mapping for the day when it reaches its daily capacity.
- The result is a set of proposed matches and prices. Your estimator checks each one before carrying it. Coffer gives no warranty that a proposed match or price is correct.
- Send only files you are allowed to share for this purpose.
- Coffer may change or end the free path at any time.
Security: Map a Quote
- Map a Quote runs on its own deployment. Its files and records sit in their own area of Coffer's database and file store, and its access credentials cannot reach Coffer customers' data.
- Files are stored in a private bucket, encrypted at rest, and sent over HTTPS. Upload links expire after 2 hours.
- Report a security problem to declan@coffer.build.
